Apply for the Graduate Certificate

Benefits: Graduate Affiliates earn the Society Centered AI graduate certificate by completing the required interdisciplinary coursework. Affiliates join the broader SCAI intellectual community, gaining access to select events and opportunities to share their work.

Eligibility: Duke graduate and professional students from any department or school

Application: The application includes profile information, survey questions, and two open response questions.

  1. Why are you interested in pursuing a Certificate in Society-Centered AI?
  2. Have you already taken any of the courses for the Certificate?

Applications are rolling, but applications are reviewed quarterly: Oct 1-21, Jan 1-21, March 1-21 and June 1-21. Applications received after the first of the review months are not guaranteed to be reviewed until the next review cycle (e.g., application received on June 3 is not guaranteed to be reviewed in the June review cycle and will instead be reviewed Oct 1-21).

In addition to completing the SCAI Affiliates certificate application, applicants must also complete The Graduate School certificate application.
